Highlights at a glance
The AEP100 liquid hydrogen fuel turboprop engine independently developed by the team of China Aviation Engine Group Co., Ltd. has recently successfully completed ground ignition and performance debugging tests. In the test, the engine and liquid hydrogen transport system ran stably, and the full-state performance reached the standard, achieving the first domestic performance verification of a megawatt liquid hydrogen fuel aero-engine. Due to its extremely high energy density and zero carbon emissions, liquid hydrogen is considered an ideal path for the deep decarbonization of the aviation industry. The success of this test indicates that my country has conquered the key technology of liquid hydrogen fuel aviation turbine power, and laid a solid foundation for the technology to move from the test stage to the engineering application stage. The technology is expected to be the first to be applied to unmanned air logistics and regional aviation in the future, and gradually expand to trunk
