Taizhou Maritime's "Triple Insurance" ensures the safety of passengers traveling the Dachen Red Tourism Route.
On the first day of the National Day holiday, the red tourism route from Jiaojiang to Dachen Island experienced its first travel peak. Faced with the dual challenges of passenger flow and complex sea conditions, the Taizhou Maritime Safety Administration adopted a "sea-land-air integrated" supervision model with a strong sense of responsibility to "always be concerned." By focusing on responsibility enforcement, hazard investigation, and dynamic management, they provided "triple insurance" for holiday water travel, fully securing the safety line.

First Level of Insurance: Securing the "Source Gate" at the Pier
On October 1, at the Dachen passenger terminal, maritime law enforcement officers were stationed to maintain boarding order, remind passengers not to carry flammable or explosive items, and check the staffing of vessels. The policy of "handling peak times at the frontline" and on-board inspections was strictly implemented. As passenger ships set sail one after another, law enforcement officers used very high frequency (VHF) radios to promptly remind and correct risky navigation behaviors and close encounters, thereby establishing the "first checkpoint" for safe passenger water travel.
Second Level of Insurance: Guarding the "Aerial Watchtower"
Considering the complex and changeable sea weather due to weak cold air, rain showers, and gusty winds during the National Day holiday, the maritime department implemented elevated holiday management measures. Relying on the VTS (Vessel Traffic System) post, they monitored passenger ship movements in real time. Medium-sized fixed-wing drones were deployed to escort, acting as "eyes over great distances," sweeping across passenger routes, areas of dense commercial and fishing vessel intersections, and construction zones. The drones transmitted real-time footage of ship movements and surrounding navigation areas back to the onshore command center. Upon detecting obstacles or abnormal targets, the command center immediately dispatched marine patrol boats for quick response—seamlessly integrating air and sea monitoring. The drones became an "aerial sentry," securing the "high-altitude safety checkpoint."
Third Level of Insurance: Strengthening the "Collision Prevention Line" at Sea
The area where passenger ships intersect with commercial and fishing vessels is the most collision-prone zone. During the National Day holiday, the "Haixun 0751" patrol ship cruised in this area. Law enforcement officers used VHF radios to continuously remind passing vessels to enhance lookout and navigate cautiously, focusing especially on fishing boats operating within navigation channels, advising and directing obstructive fishing ships to move. Additionally, the maritime department proactively coordinated with meteorological and oceanic authorities to establish near-term warning mechanisms. Through VHF and working groups, they promptly shared weather alerts with passenger transport companies and vessels, guiding them to adjust schedules and optimize capacity allocation based on weather dynamics, effectively managing passenger flow.
A single red route connects island residents with visitors from all over, bearing the heavy responsibility of water transportation safety. From the pier to the route, from the air to the shoreline, Taizhou maritime enforcement officers not only safeguarded passengers on ships but also supervised the materials at ports. They ensured the safe roundtrip of travelers and the smooth operation of supply lines. During the National Day holiday, Taizhou's maritime department remained steadfast at the frontline, implementing every regulatory measure onto ships, individuals, and every voyage. Through meticulous work, they protected the safety of passengers and allowed them to experience Dachen's red culture with more peace of mind and ease.
