Chongqing’s cargo volume via the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor increased by more than 30% year-on-year in the first quarter.
According to the statistics from the Chongqing Railway Logistics Center of the China Railway Chengdu Bureau, the Chongqing Western Land-Sea New Corridor rail-sea intermodal train dispatched over 400 trains and loaded nearly 17,000 cars in the first quarter of 2026, with a year-on-year increase in volume of over 30%, achieving a double increase in both the number of trains and the loading volume.
In recent years, Chongqing, located in the inland hinterland, has constructed a modern collection and distribution logistics system oriented towards the "east, south, west, and north," coordinating "rail, road, water, and air," achieving deep integration of multimodal transport, reaching rivers and seas, and connecting the world.
Currently, the Western Land-Sea New Corridor logistics network covers 138 domestic sites and reaches 584 ports in 127 countries and regions worldwide, paving a prosperous path of land-sea linkage and east-west mutual support.
