China Communications Construction Mechanical & Electrical Bureau creates a smart digital commodity storage and transportation hub in the Bohai Sea Rim.
On November 2, the media open day of CCCC’s “Jiaozhu·Strategic Project” Caofeidian Ore Storage and Logistics Project and the brand open day of "CCCC Electromechanical" and "CCCC New Energy" were held in the Caofeidian Port Area, Hebei. This project is the largest enclosed iron ore storage and distribution hub project at the port end within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in terms of single-unit scale. It is also a leading port-storage integrated intelligent, green public storage and logistics project of its kind in Hebei Province. The project is currently in the trial operation phase and is scheduled to be operational by the end of June 2027.

As the general contractor for the project, CCCC Electromechanical Bureau is creating a modern ore storage and logistics base that integrates "digital intelligence, greenness, and efficiency." The project utilizes fifth-generation fixed network full-optical intelligent control technology to achieve unmanned and closed-loop operations of stackers and reclaimers. It has introduced new technologies such as intelligent conveyor belt inspection and three-dimensional material scanning to promote the digital transformation of ore transfer operations. Leveraging the "BIM (Building Information Modeling) + Smart Construction Site" and digital twin management platform, it ensures full-lifecycle digital management of construction and production operations. In terms of green and low-carbon initiatives, the project is equipped with production sewage treatment and intelligent lighting systems, while also integrating thin-film photovoltaic solutions and reserving installation spaces for photovoltaic panels.

This project is a large "construction + electromechanical" port general contracting project independently undertaken by CCCC Electromechanical Bureau. The construction team has efficiently advanced the project, achieving a construction output value of 870 million yuan in 9 months, with an average monthly output value of nearly 100 million yuan. The project's supporting belt conveyor system ranks first in the Bohai Bay area in terms of operational capacity, with a rated capacity of 9,000 tons per hour, equivalent to the steel consumption of approximately 3,600 small cars. During construction, the project implemented full-process quality and safety management, promoted the regional "large project department" management model, and realized resource sharing and cost reduction for improved efficiency.
It is reported that the total investment in the Caofeidian Ore Storage and Logistics Project is approximately 1.84 billion yuan, with a planned land area of 502 square meters. Once completed, the project will have a static ore storage capacity of 3 million tons and provide composite functions such as ore storage, screening, beneficiation, and bonded services. It will serve as an important iron ore reserve center for China.
