The person who said this is Yang Menghan, a girl born after 2010 from Zhongyuan Village Primary School in Laowo Town, Lushui City, Nujiang Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The roaring Nujiang River flows through the canyon, while the Huangpu River rises and falls thousands of miles away. Despite being separated by 3,000 kilometers of mountains and seas, a bond of love tightly connects this remote mountain school with the CCCC Shanghai Waterway Logistics Company.

Zhongyuan Village Primary School is located on the eastern bank of the Nujiang Grand Canyon. It is a fully boarding ethnic primary school with over 300 years of history, and most of its students are Bai ethnic children. Yang Menghan, a fourth-grade student, is one of the children studying here. Her family faces heavy burdens as four of her elders suffer from serious illnesses, placing immense pressure on this ordinary rural household. Despite the adversity, little Menghan remains diligent, self-disciplined, and excels in both character and academics. At home, she actively helps with household chores and understands the hardships her family faces at a young age.

As a central enterprise, CCCC Shanghai Waterway Logistics Company embraces the mission of serving the nation and considers educational assistance an important part of fulfilling its social responsibilities. The company has been steadily advancing the “CCCC Dream Support” initiative, providing targeted educational aid to illuminate the path for disadvantaged youth in border areas.

In March 2025, care from the banks of the Huangpu River brought hope to this family. Leveraging the foundation of CCCC Group’s targeted assistance in Nujiang, Yunnan, the Youth League Committee of CCCC Shanghai Waterway Logistics Company officially launched the “Youth Navigation, Lighting Dreams” educational aid project, initiating point-to-point special assistance for Yang Menghan during her primary school years.

At the launch meeting, little Menghan, far away in the mountains, connected via video with the “big brothers and sisters” born in the 1980s and 1990s in Shanghai. Across the screen, separated by 3,000 kilometers of mountains and rivers, the girl’s tender yet determined words moved everyone at the meeting. Her waving hands through the screen conveyed the gratitude and aspirations of a mountain child and sowed a seed of love. Many employees who were already parents had tears in their eyes: “Such a young child already understands the difficulties at home; she is truly sensible.”

Assistance is not just about alleviating material difficulties but also about providing spiritual nourishment and companionship. The company’s Youth League Committee issued a donation appeal to all employees, raising over 10,000 yuan in educational aid donations in 2025. Employees also donated unused books, stationery, clothes, and toys from their homes, which crossed mountains and seas to reach the school’s “new little owner.” Meanwhile, the Youth League Committee established a regular communication mechanism to maintain contact with the school, track the child’s academic progress, mental state, and daily life, ensuring that care is reflected in everyday details.

Today, Yang Menghan studies diligently, and her grades in Chinese, mathematics, and English remain stable at around 90 points. The school reports that the kindness sent from afar is inspiring the child’s intrinsic motivation to strive forward.

From second grade to fourth grade, spanning winters and summers, this point-to-point educational aid has continued to progress. In September 2026, as autumn arrived, little Menghan entered fourth grade, embarking on a new beginning with renewed energy. The love continues to flow between Nujiang and Huangpu.
