What is the difference between PE pipe and PVC pipe?

 PE pipe contains only two elements of carbon and hydrogen, and its sanitary performance is good. PVC contains heavy metals such as lead, and its sanitary performance is slightly worse. However, the sanitary performance of PVC pipe with calcium and zinc stabilizer also complies with the national sanitary standard GB/T17219. 

PE pipes are connected by hot melting, and the connection is more firm; The small diameter of PVC pipe is connected with screw thread, and the large diameter is connected with rubber ring. The connection safety performance is slightly poor, but the construction cost is lower. 

Under the same pressure, the wall thickness of PE pipe is thicker and the price is more expensive; PVC is thinner and cheaper. 

PE pipe can also be used in gas transmission and other fields besides water supply; PVC pipe can also be used for drainage, and can also be used in the field of flame-retardant threading due to its flame-retardant insulation performance. 

PE is polyethylene plastic, the most common plastic. PE pipe, also known as high-density polyethylene pipe, is widely used in the field of water supply and drainage manufacturing due to its high strength, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, non-toxicity and wear resistance. Because it will not rust, it is an ideal pipe material to replace ordinary iron water supply pipe.

The main component of PVC is PVC. Adding other components can enhance its heat resistance, toughness, ductility, etc. PVC pipe is extruded by hot pressing after the combination of PVC resin with stabilizer and lubricant, and is the earliest plastic pipe developed and applied. PVC pipe has strong corrosion resistance, easy adhesion, low price and hard texture, but it is only suitable for water supply system with transmission temperature not exceeding 45.

It has good tensile and compressive strength, but its flexibility is not as good as other plastic pipes.

Small fluid resistance: PVC-U pipe has very smooth pipe wall and small resistance to fluid. Its roughness coefficient is only 0.009. Its water delivery capacity can be 20% higher than that of cast iron pipe with the same pipe diameter and 40% higher than that of concrete pipe.

Excellent corrosion resistance and drug resistance: PVC-U pipes have excellent acid resistance, alkali resistance and corrosion resistance, and are not affected by moisture and soil acidity and alkalinity. No anti-corrosion treatment is required during pipeline laying.

Good water tightness: PVC-U pipes are installed with good water tightness no matter they are connected by adhesive or rubber ring.

Antibite: PVC-U tube is not a nutrient source, so it will not be eroded by rodents. According to the test conducted by the National Health Foundation of the United States in Michigan, mice will not bite on PVC-U pipes.

Performance test: curing time shrinkage, splitting strength, tensile strength, peeling strength, thermal stability, applicable period, storage period, release of harmful substances.
