On May 11, the China Computer Industry Association Metaverse Industry Special Committee was officially launched. According to the forecast of experts from the special committee, the current output value of China's Metaverse upstream and downstream industries exceeds 30 billion yuan, mainly in game entertainment, VR and AR hardware, etc. The domestic Metaverse market will break through at least 200 billion yuan in the next five years.

According to the "2021 China Equity Investment Trends" report released by KPMG China, the capital market's investment in the VR/AR industry has increased by 544% year-on-year in the past year, ranking first in all industries!

Behind the investment growth of more than 5 times, it can be said that VR/AR is ushering in an inflection point of explosive growth after decades of development.

As the necessary hardware to support immersive experience, VR/AR devices are the key interface to the metaverse. According to IDC's latest report, the global AR/VR headset shipments will reach 11.23 million units in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 92.1%, of which VR headset shipments will reach 10.95 million units. IDC predicts that in 2022, global VR headset shipments will be 15.73 million units, a year-on-year increase of 43.6%.

At the same time as the rapid growth of VR headset shipments, consumers have also put forward higher requirements for the lightweight of the device, and hope that the device can ensure the comfort of wearing while the structure is sturdy. Many material suppliers are accelerating the promotion of new material solutions to make VR headsets "lightweight".
