On April 13, Airbus called on the European Union not to impose titanium sanctions on Russia, saying that this action would not only pose no threat to the Russian economy, but would damage the aerospace industry.

Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury said: Even if the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is serious, EU sanctions against Russia should not be extended to titanium products that are vital to the aerospace industry. It also said: Airbus is currently expediting the search for non-Russian long-term supply sources, and short- and medium-term needs can still be met. It is reported that in March of this year, Airbus said it was "procuring titanium directly from Russia and other countries" and indirectly through suppliers to purchase Russian titanium. A few days ago, the company reiterated this in response to questions, but declined to say when it last received Russian titanium. Finally, Faury also reiterated Airbus' 2022 profit forecast, noting that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict "makes our situation even more difficult" due to economic risks.
