May 2021 titanium ore, titanium dioxide import and export data

According to customs data, in May 2021 China imported 226,800 tons of titanium ore, down 29.15% year-on-year and 38.24% YoY. January-May cumulative imports of about 1,620,100 tons, up 21.48% YoY and up about 286,700 tons in total from January to May 2020.

Among them, the top three countries of titanium ore imports in May are: Vietnam, Norway, Australia, accounting for 17%, 16%, 15% of the total imports. the overall imports of titanium ore in May decreased significantly mainly because of the reduction of titanium ore imports from Mozambique, affected by foreign weather, loading difficulties, port transport pressure. Some mines depleted, global titanium raw material shortage, some regions titanium ore spot tension and other reasons.

According to customs data, China's titanium dioxide exports in May 2021 about 104,800 tons, up 57.74% year-on-year, down 2.19% YoY. January-May cumulative exports of about 540,000 tons, up 13.01% YoY, compared to January-May 2020 cumulative exports increased by 62,200 tons.

Among the top three countries in May titanium dioxide exports: India, South Korea, Turkey, respectively, accounting for 11% of total exports, 9%, 7%.

In May 2021, China imported about 15,800 tons of titanium dioxide, up 12.62% year-on-year and down 15.84% YoY. January-May accumulated imports of about 81,000 tons, up 27.32% YoY and up about 17,400 tons from January-May 2020.

Among the top three regions of titanium dioxide imports in May: Taiwan, the United States, Australia, accounting for 46%, 16%, 9% of total imports, respectively.
