The International Training Program on Green and Low-Carbon Shipping Technologies for the Belt and Road Initiative Kicks Off
On October 12, the "Belt and Road" International Training Program on Green and Low-Carbon Ship Technology was launched in Wuhan, Hubei. The training program, hosted by China Classification Society, lasts for 15 days. Through expert lectures, industry discussions, on-site research, and other activities, it provides an international exchange platform for green and low-carbon ship technology to more than 20 technical personnel from maritime management agencies, ship inspection departments, and shipbuilding and shipping-related units in 11 "Belt and Road" partner countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Egypt, Thailand, and Brunei.
The course will systematically introduce China's green and low-carbon ship technology and the theory and practice of China Classification Society in ship inspection technical standards. It will showcase China's innovative achievements in green ship design, research and development of new energy power systems, and intelligent construction of green ships. This fosters international cooperation between China and "Belt and Road" partner countries in the maritime, ship inspection, and shipping fields, further promoting interconnectivity of related standards such as green low-carbon shipbuilding and international ship inspection technology, and driving the coordinated development of green low-carbon shipbuilding, shipping, and supporting industries.
It is reported that this training program is one of the 2025 technical training projects for developing countries under the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology. It aims to help developing countries master the concepts, knowledge, and skills of sustainable development, enhance their capacity for sustainable development, and better address the challenges of sustainable development. The hosting of the training program will help enhance the international influence of China's green technology, further deepen international technical cooperation and cultural exchange in the field of transportation, and promote the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road" initiative in a more profound and practical way.
