Lacey peanut products industry "super brain" declared success

The digital journey of a peanut, from the fields to the smart factory, from data islands to full-chain collaboration, is being revitalized by the reconstruction of an "industry brain."

Recently, the 2025 "industry brain" construction pilot list of Shandong Province was announced, and Laixi's "peanut product industry brain" successfully made the list. The project is organized by the Laixi Municipal People's Government, in collaboration with Beijing Guolian Video Information Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as Guolian), Qingdao Guotou Xinglian Digital Industry Investment Development Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Qingdao Guotou Industrial Sector, referred to as Guotou Xinglian), and Qingdao Baoquan Peanut Products Co., Ltd. for construction and operation, led by Qingdao Shuirunjia Investment Development Co., Ltd., to jointly create the "strongest brain" in the peanut product field.

The successful application of the peanut product industry brain marks Laixi's transition from independent exploration to a new stage of provincial-level coordinated industrial intelligence. This is not only recognition of Laixi's peanut industry foundation but also a strategic pivot for Shandong to promote the leap of traditional food processing towards intelligence and to build a modern industrial system.

Adapting to the digital trend and jointly advancing the construction of the industry brain

The construction of the industry brain is both an inevitable choice in response to the digital wave and a proactive action for local industrial upgrading. In August 2023, Lin Wu, Secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, emphasized at the provincial high-quality digital economy development work conference that all cities should attach great importance to and make good use of the "industry brain"; in December of the same year, the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government jointly issued a document, once again putting forward clear requirements for the construction of the "industry brain."

To encourage the construction of the "industry brain," Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the Municipal Finance Bureau jointly formulated the "Implementation Rules for the Provincial 'Industry Brain' Construction Award and Subsidy in Qingdao," providing policy rewards to recognized provincial "industry brains" to activate the intrinsic motivation of market entities to participate in industrial digital transformation.

Against this backdrop, Qingdao International Investment Co., Ltd. (referred to as Qingdao Guotou) focuses on its two main businesses: "petrochemical, high-end chemical industry investment and capital operation; capital operation and capital market services," leveraging capital power to drive industrial transformation. At the forefront of accelerated application of artificial intelligence technology, it precisely lays out the construction of county-level characteristic industry brains. Relying on Laixi City's deep peanut industry foundation, under the organization and guidance of the local government, Qingdao Guotou collaborates with Guolian, Baoquan Peanuts, Shuirunjia, and other enterprises to jointly create the "strongest brain" in the peanut industry.

During the project advancement, Qingdao Guotou injects strong momentum into the construction of the industry brain through precise capital empowerment and full-cycle resource empowerment, not only promoting data interconnection and efficiency improvement in various links of the peanut industry chain but also exploring a new path for county-level economic upgrading through deep integration of "capital, digital, industry," providing a replicable and promotable practical sample for the construction of industry brains across the province.

Guolian, hailed as the "first stock of industrial internet," as the project operation platform builder, demonstrates significant professional advantages. This A-share listed company specializes in B2B e-commerce and industrial internet platforms, and its data asset management capabilities have constructed a scientific data governance framework for Laixi City's peanut industry, ensuring the stability and reliability of industry data through strict data quality control and security standards. The "peanut product industry brain" project is a key step in Guolian's digital empowerment of Shandong's local industrial upgrading. In the future, Guolian will continue to expand the boundaries of digital services, promoting more similar projects to take root in different industrial fields, forming a widely covered, highly efficient collaborative digital service network.

Activating new momentum for local economy and consolidating industrial foundation

As the "hometown of peanuts in China," Laixi City has a solid industrial foundation, with the city's peanut planting area accounting for about 4% of the national total. In 2019, it was awarded the title of the first "China Peanut Industry Base" in the country, and its peanut industry was rated as one of the 18 typical "one county, one industry" nationwide. Currently, there are over 300 peanut processing enterprises locally, with peanut processing capacity and export volume ranking first among county-level cities nationwide, accounting for 28% of the national total annual export volume, making it the veritable "number one city for peanut export in the country."

In recent years, Laixi City has focused on technological upgrading, market expansion, and international cooperation in the peanut field, hosting the China Peanut Industry High-Quality Development Conference for two consecutive years, effectively promoting domestic and international exchanges and cooperation in the peanut industry. This has significant constructive significance for enhancing the influence of the Shandong peanut brand, promoting the high-quality development of the peanut industry towards scale, standardization, and clustering, and achieving an overall leap in influence and professionalism.
