BAGE: Argentina Soybean Harvest Hits 97.2%, Output Forecast Held Steady at 50.1 Mln Tonnes
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange (BAGE) stated that as of the week ending June 17, Argentina’s 2025/26 soybean harvest progress reached 97.2%, rising from 95.2% a week prior. The national average soybean yield stood at 3.16 tonnes per hectare, climbing more than 6% year on year.
The exchange estimated soybean planting area at 16.8 million hectares, down 9% from last season’s 18.4 million hectares and 1.3% below the five-year average.
Harvest activities are centered in the southern agricultural region, where certain fields are yet to be harvested with yields under the national average. By comparison, most growing zones in central and northern Argentina have wrapped up harvesting, delivering yields above historical averages.
The second-cycle soybean harvest progress came in at 92.9%, with a national average yield of 2.61 tonnes per hectare, also higher than the previous year’s level.
BAGE kept its 2025/26 Argentina soybean output forecast unchanged at 50.1 million tonnes, versus 50.3 million tonnes recorded in the prior season.
On June 11, 2026, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) projected Argentina’s 2025/26 soybean production at 50 million tonnes. The figure represented an upward adjustment from the 48 million tonnes forecast released a month earlier, yet lower than the 51.11 million tonnes posted in the 2024/25 season.
On May 14, 2026, the Rosario Grain Exchange forecast Argentina’s 2025/26 soybean output at 50 million tonnes. This estimate was lifted from April’s 48 million tonnes and also exceeded last year’s 49.5 million tonnes, as improved yields offset the decline in planting acreage.
